Early years outcomes and the National Curriculum programmes of study form the foundations of our Science curriculum. Pupils will have a basic understanding of the world. They will understand how science has changed our lives and is vital to the world’s future. Working scientifically allows pupils to generate and answer scientific questions using scientific vocabulary and all pupils are taught knowledge, methods, processes and uses of science. Learning scientific knowledge and concepts allows the pupils to explain, describe and observe different processes, changes and theories. Pupils are taught how to understand how science can be used to explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave, and analyse causes.
Pupils will be taught over a series of lesson which include:
- Revisiting previously taught knowledge and skills
- Scientific vocabulary
- Working scientifically
